Travel Nursing Job Details
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2310 - $2370
- Assignment Type: Travel nursing contract
- Location: Madison, Wisconsin 53792
- Facility: University Hospital – Magnet-designated academic medical center
- Start Date: September 8, 2025
- End Date: January 5, 2026
- Contract Duration: 17 weeks
- Hours per Week: 36
- Shifts: Day/Evening, 3x12-hour shifts (6:40am–7:10pm or 9:40am–11:10pm); Monday–Friday with weekday and weekend call
- Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
- Unit: Operating Room (OR) – Neurosurgery focus
- Active Wisconsin or compact state Registered Nurse (RN) license (must be in hand at submission)
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience as an Operating Room RN within the last 3 years
- Recent neurosurgery experience required (craniotomy, aneurysm clipping)
- Experience with EPIC electronic medical records (EMR)
- Must reside at least 50 miles from Madison, WI (local candidates not accepted)
- Ability to float to other hospital units as needed
- Pass/fail telemetry exam required prior to start (strict criteria)
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary surgical teams to plan and deliver safe, high-quality patient care
- Coordinate surgical case progression and facilitate efficient turnover between cases
- Provide specialized nursing care for neurosurgical procedures: craniotomy, aneurysm clipping, cervical/lumbar fusion, laminectomy, VP shunt insertion
- Utilize and maintain neuro-specific surgical equipment (sonopet, bone scalpel, bipolar with irrigation)
- Adhere to infection control, fire safety, and universal protocol standards
- Participate in weekday and weekend call rotations as required
- Float to other hospital units as staffing needs arise
