Nursing Job Details

• Location: Hermitage, TN (37076) – Greater Nashville healthcare jobs
• Setting: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg)
• Assignment Type: Locum tenens, travel nursing contract
• Start Date: September 15, 2025
• End Date: December 15, 2025
• Duration: 13-week contract
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1640-$1680
• Scheduling: Self-scheduling; every other weekend required
• Dress Code: Black scrubs
  
  

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Tennessee or compact state
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg or PCU nursing experience
• Proficient in EKG rhythm interpretation, cardiac drips, insulin drips, and heparin drips
• Experience with bipaps, high flow oxygen, multiple oxygen delivery systems, and post-cardiac cath care
• Peripheral IV skills required; peritoneal dialysis experience preferred
• Familiarity with Meditech electronic health record (EHR) system is a plus
  
  

Nursing Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care in a 25- or 34-bed PCU/Med-Surg unit
• Manage patient ratios of 1:5 to 1:6 during night shifts
• Administer and monitor cardiac, insulin, and heparin drips
• Assist with procedures including peritoneal dialysis, thoracentesis, paracentesis, chest tube insertions, and NG/Dobhoff tube insertions
• Utilize advanced clinical equipment: bipaps, high flow O2, vapotherm, and wound vacs
• Conduct hourly rounding and maintain patient communication boards
• Float between PCU and Med-Surg units as needed
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team and support techs to provide patient-centered care
