Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Custodian to maintain the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of our facilities. In this vital role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and custodial tasks to ensure a healthy and welcoming environment for staff, visitors, and clients. Your proactive approach to facilities maintenance will help uphold our high standards of sanitation, safety, and professionalism. Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and disinfecting surfaces across all areas of the facility.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and carpet cleaners to maintain floors and carpets in pristine condition.
• Handle chemical agents safely following established chemical handling safety procedures to ensure effective sanitation without risk.
• Conduct heavy lifting tasks using proper safe lifting practices when moving furniture, supplies, or equipment.
• Maintain sanitation standards by cleaning restrooms, kitchens, and common areas according to health regulations.
• Assist with facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs, painting touch-ups, and ensuring all areas are safe and hazard-free.
• Follow safety protocol adherence at all times to prevent accidents or injuries during custodial activities.
• Support industrial cleaning projects or commercial cleaning needs as required for specific events or projects.
• Use cleaning equipment efficiently while adhering to safety guidelines to maximize productivity and safety.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure all custodial duties are completed promptly and thoroughly.

Experience

• Prior custodial or janitorial experience in commercial or industrial settings is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate.
• Experience handling chemical agents safely and knowledge of chemical handling safety procedures is advantageous.
• Familiarity with floor care techniques including buffing and the use of floor buffers is desirable.
• Previous experience with facilities maintenance or general custodial responsibilities will help ensure success in this role.
• Ability to perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting while maintaining safe lifting practices is essential.
• Customer service skills are beneficial for interacting professionally with staff and visitors when needed.

Pay: $12.00 - $13.00 per hour
