The Role:
The Move Manager oversees all aspects of commercial relocation projects, from early concept development through pre-
move planning, budgeting, bidding, execution, and post-move. This is primarily a professional services role designed to
supplement customer planning resources, increasing capacity, and accelerating projects while strengthening customers’
move process. This role focuses on developing consistent, repeatable, and scalable move programs for large, multi-phase
projects or repeat customers with regular ongoing move activity. The ideal candidate will have experience managing large
moves within corporate, laboratory and research settings.
- Build strong customer relationships and serve as a trusted advisor.
- Align stakeholders and lead clear, consistent communication.
- Develop and manage move strategies, timelines, and budgets.
- Coordinate all resources, vendors, and internal teams for smooth execution.
- Prepare detailed move plans, documentation, and readiness assessments.
- Ensure quality control, compliance, and post-move support.
- Manage project financials, invoicing, and vendor accountability.
- Expert in commercial moves, occupancy planning, and furniture design.
- Proficient in reading blueprints and architectural drawings.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Skilled in budgeting, forecasting, and project lifecycle management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and project tools (e.g., AutoCAD, ARCHIBUS, Bluebeam).
- High ethical standards and customer-focused mindset.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Able to manage multiple priorities independently.
- Willing to travel as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Design, Architecture, Project Management or other related field highly preferred.
- 5 years of experience in large-scale commercial move management required.
- 5 years of experience in a commercial office furniture dealership highly preferred.
- Experience in occupancy management, construction, and facilities management is highly preferred.
- Interior design license highly preferred but not required.
