Role Overview: The Maintenance Technician B performs repair and maintenance on diesel and non-diesel vehicles and equipment, including chassis, refuse bodies, hydraulic and electrical systems, engines, HVAC, suspension, drive train, and steering. They may also handle basic tire work. Working under supervision, they troubleshoot malfunctions using electronic tools, perform preventive maintenance, and provide road service to ensure equipment safety and efficiency.

- Maintain proficiency in vehicle systems and components.
- Perform repairs on chassis, refuse bodies, brakes, engines, suspension, HVAC, and more.
- Conduct welding and fabrication tasks.
- Diagnose issues and complete work orders.
- Support on-road repairs and safety protocols.
- Complete required training and perform additional duties as assigned.
- Experience diagnosing multi-system issues; knowledge of trucks and equipment.
- Basic understanding of work order standards.
- 3-5 years of relevant technician experience or recent graduation from automotive/technical school.
- Ability to perform inspections with limited supervision.
- Valid driver’s license; ASE certification or CDL preferred but not required.
