What are the responsibilities and job description for the Litigation Paralegal / Legal Assistant position at Plaintiff PI Law Firm?
Established plaintiff personal injury law firm in New Orleans is seeking an experienced Senior Litigation Legal Assistant to support attorneys in a busy litigation practice.
We are looking for a highly organized, proactive professional who can manage litigation files from inception through trial preparation while maintaining excellent client communication and attention to detail.
The ideal candidate has prior personal injury litigation experience, understands Louisiana state court and federal procedures, and can operate independently in a fast-paced but supportive environment.
Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
- Prepare, organize, and manage legal documents related to litigation cases
- Assist attorneys with case research and fact-finding
- Coordinate communication between clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
- Schedule and manage deadlines for filings, hearings, and court appearances
- Maintain case files with accurate and up-to-date information
- Draft correspondence and legal pleadings as directed by attorneys
- Support attorneys during trial preparation and manage exhibits and evidence
Qualifications
- 5 years of litigation legal assistant experience preferred
- Personal injury litigation experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of Louisiana and federal court procedures and filing systems
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple active litigation matters
- High attention to detail and professionalism
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required
