Plains Grain & Agronomy is seeking a self-motivated, organized, professional applicant for our Company. The following position must provide a positive representation of the PGAg by demonstrating safe, responsible driving practices on and off company time. The applicant must be able to operate a company vehicle in a safe manner. Applicants must also be available to help in other locations and departments when not needed for hauling.
Role and Responsibilities
- Operate a Class A commercial vehicle to transport materials between company locations, customer sites and vendors.
- Perform pre-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance concerns.
- Safely load and unload freight, securing cargo as well.
- Maintain accurate driver logs, delivery records, and other required documentation.
- Follow assigned routes and delivery schedules.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse staff and customers.
- Comply with all DOT, FMCSA, and company safety standards and procedures.
- Assist with basic vehicle maintenance and cleanliness.
- Follow all company safety procedures and policies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Over-the-road truck driving experience of 2 years.
- Must have and obtain Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Must have and maintain a medical card.
- Must have and maintain a clean and safe driving record.
- Ability to work with promptness, speed and accuracy.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to drive in all-weather conditions.
