What are the responsibilities and job description for the Structural Engineer position at Placement By Design, Inc.?
We are seeking a Structural Engineer/Designer for a full service architectural/engineering firm in their Irving, TX office.
Responsibilities:
- Perform structural analysis, design and detailing for diverse structure types using various building codes
- Coordinate design work with in-house staff and other design professionals including Contractors, Architects and Engineers
- Prepare construction documents within a Building Information Modeling (BIM) environment
- Develop precise design specifications and calculations for active projects
- Create technical reports with clear structure and language that clients can easily understand
- Support project management by maintaining schedules, processing change orders, and monitoring budgets
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s degree strongly preferred)
- Proven experience (1-3 years) in structural engineering design, calculations, drawings, and analysis in a consulting / design office environment
- Advanced proficiency with structural analysis and design software
- Experience with Revit and Autocad.
- Strong technical writing skills (reports, memos, calculations)
- Excellent verbal and written communication, and ability to collaborate across disciplines
- Self-driven, detail-oriented, organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks under deadlines
- Must have experience with projects in the USA.
