Director of Acquisitions & Asset Management
The Director of Acquisitions and Asset Management will be responsible for growing the company’s real estate portfolio through new acquisitions and overseeing asset performance across Florida and the Midwest. This role blends acquisitions, asset management, and operational oversight, and is ideal for a highly analytical, hands-on professional who thrives in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced, and multidisciplinary environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead acquisitions of workforce, affordable, senior, and student housing assets across Midwest markets.
- Support the preparation of investment memoranda and offering memorandums, including in-depth macroeconomic analysis and bottoms-up market research.
- Conduct frequent site visits and work closely with local property managers, contractors, and vendors to oversee capital expenditures, renovations, and operational performance.
- Assist with monthly and quarterly investor reporting, financial reviews, and investor communications.
- Drive portfolio cost optimization by identifying operational efficiencies, data insights, and value-creation opportunities.
- Coordinate closely with the acquisitions team throughout the due-diligence process, including managing checklists, third-party reports, and closing requirements.
Skills & Aptitudes:
- Strong underwriting capabilities and excellent written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Yardi and QuickBooks.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently across multiple states.
- Familiarity with Argus is a plus, but not required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in real estate acquisitions and/or asset management.
- Proven ability to manage multiple assets or client accounts simultaneously in a high-paced environment.
- Strong interest in the built environment and a passion for developing high-quality, sustainable, and durable communities.
- Practical knowledge of construction, renovations, and unit-level improvements.
