- Operates all types of material handling equipment including hand trucks, pallet jacks and forklift as appropriate for particular materials to be moved.
- Drive forklift in order to pick up incoming stock or to deliver supplies to designated locations and follows all safety rules for forklift operations.
- Receive and count items and record data manually or using a computer.
- Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouse areas.
- Issue or deliver materials, products, parts and supplies to internal customers based on information from incoming requisitions.
- Examine and inspect items for damage or defects, reporting any damage to supervisor.
- Prepare and process customer outbound shipping using carrier manifest systems.
- Arrange return of items to vendors or if directed, dispose of damaged or defective items.
- Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts or stock and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.
- Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment and work areas in order to ensure compliance with safety regulations and departmental standards.
- Uses tools such as hammers and crowbars to remove strapping, open crates, strap cars.
- Stacks skids or pallets in designated areas. Cleans up and disposes of scrap bracing, cardboard, and strapping and places in proper containers or designated areas.
- Must be able to lift at least 15lbs.
- Other duties as assigned.
