At PJ Trailers in Sumner, TX the Weld Technician is responsible for:
Weld Audits
- Audit structural and A surface welds 2x per day, every weld line.
- Correct and coach as needed, welders and leads.
- Document any non-conforming welds into a daily audit report to be submitted to the Quality, Production and Plant managers.
- Communicate with QC inspectors to solve any weld issues coming through finish.
Welding Equipment
- Verify welder settings per standard.
- Check gas mixes are to standard.
- Troubleshoot welding equipment issues.
- Knowledge of welder power supply.
- Check consumables are installed correctly
- Verify there are no bare grounds or damaged leads and guns
Other
- Review and verify prints/weld maps
- Weld integrity testing
- Audit Weld PPE
- Audit Proper Body and Hand Placement
Qualifications:
- AWS Certified preferred
- Minimum 5 years welding experience
- 2-3 years of Supervisor and training experience
