Responsibilities

• Assist in supervising daily store operations, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow across all departments.
• Support the onboarding and training of new employees through effective employee orientation and ongoing coaching.
• Participate in interviewing prospective team members, evaluating candidates’ skills in customer service, sales, and teamwork.
• Manage inventory control processes including stocking, merchandising, purchasing, and pricing to optimize product availability and presentation.
• Oversee cash handling procedures, cashiering activities, and POS (Point of Sale) system operations with accuracy and integrity.
• Contribute to sales management efforts by supporting promotional campaigns, marketing initiatives, and sales strategies to meet store targets.
• Assist with payroll processing, bookkeeping tasks, and administrative duties to maintain accurate records.
• Support shift management by organizing schedules, supervising team members, and ensuring excellent customer service during all hours of operation.
• Foster a positive team environment through leadership in supervising staff performance, motivating team members, and promoting professional development.
• Uphold store policies related to safety, cleanliness, customer service standards, and compliance with company procedures.
• Engage with customers using excellent communication skills and phone etiquette to resolve issues promptly and enhance their shopping experience.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated assistant manager or supervisory experience within retail or grocery environments.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced setting.
• Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases.
• Proficiency in retail math including sales calculations, pricing strategies, budgeting, and inventory valuation.
• Experience with POS systems, cash handling procedures, merchandising techniques, and inventory management tools.
• Knowledge of retail sales techniques, customer service excellence, and marketing fundamentals.
• Ability to lead teams through training & development initiatives while fostering a collaborative work environment.
• Skills in negotiation, interviewing candidates, recruiting new staff members, and supervising daily store activities.
• Familiarity with payroll processing, bookkeeping practices, and administrative responsibilities related to store management.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently during shift changes or busy periods.
• Passion for retail management with a proactive attitude towards learning new skills such as wireless sales or grocery store operations.
