What are the responsibilities and job description for the Automation Test Lead position at PIXIE?
We are seeking a hands-on Automation & Verification Engineer with strong experience in hardware/software testing, design verification, and modern automation frameworks. The ideal candidate brings a mix of systems engineering, CI/CD integration, and emerging AI-driven automation capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Automation Development
- Design, build, and maintain scalable UI, API, and service-level test automation
- Develop reusable automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Squish) with strong error handling, retry logic, and idempotency
- Drive continuous improvement in test coverage, reliability, and execution speed
CI/CD & Quality Engineering
- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
- Implement quality gates, versioning, and traceability across releases
- Build automated validation, reporting, and dashboards to track coverage and release readiness
AI-Enabled Automation
- Leverage Azure OpenAI and Cognitive Services for document processing (requirements, risk docs, IFUs), text classification, and summarization
- Develop lightweight LLM-based utilities with proper guardrails (prompt templates, cost/latency controls, logging, and data redaction)
- Collaborate with AI/data teams on advanced use cases while ensuring Responsible AI and data privacy compliance
Required Qualifications
- 3β5 years of experience in QA automation, DevOps, systems engineering, or test engineering
- Hands-on experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Squish, or Robot Framework
- Strong programming skills in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or PowerShell/Bash
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and Git-based workflows
- Familiarity with systems engineering tools such as ALM, JAMA, or similar
- Basic cloud experience (Azure preferred), including services like Functions, App Services, Storage, and Key Vault
- Experience working with APIs (REST/GraphQL) and data formats (JSON, CSV, Parquet, SQL)
Nice to Have
- Exposure to CT scanner hardware or medical imaging technologies
- Experience using LLM APIs or cognitive services for automation use cases
- Understanding of prompt engineering, token limits, cost optimization, and latency considerations
