Graphic Design Internship (Fall 2026)

Reports to: Sr. Designer, Creative

Based at: PPG Paints Arena, 1001 Fifth Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15219

Approximate Timeline

• This internship posting will remain open until June 1st, 2026.
• Applicants will be reviewed on a rolling basis and reached out with further communication by June 22nd, 2026, at the latest.
• Anticipated start date is September 7th, 2026 and end date is December 4th, 2026.
  
  

The Pittsburgh Penguins are currently seeking a graphic design intern to assist primarily with graphic design and marketing projects. This internship is only available onsite at the Pittsburgh Penguins offices at PPG Paints Arena and is open to students entering their junior or senior year in college, with 15-20 hours of flexible availability each week. The internship is paid hourly at the rate of $10 per hour. Students remain eligible for earning course credits for their internship and will be responsible for ensuring that the internship meets the criteria of their program and/or university.

Key Responsibilities And Accountabilities

• Assist with the design and maintenance of graphic templates
• Assist with the organization of files, tagging and cataloguing of images
• Assist with ongoing design projects
• Assist with player cutout and treatments of photos in preparation for use in graphics
• Understand the sports design world, but also bring new ideas to the table
• Must feel comfortable working inside graphics templates, brand standards and campaign guidelines
• Deliver final design products in a quick and orderly fashion
  
  

Candidates Should Possess The Following Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in graphic design, digital media, or related field
• Required: Must have completed sophomore year
• Required Technical Skills: Adobe Creative Suite including: Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
• Must have a comprehensive understanding of the basic principles or design
• Ability to work within a brand while also keeping things fresh, attention to detail, quick and efficient with execution and ideation
• Preferred: Strong hockey knowledge and familiarity with the NHL and the Pittsburgh Penguins
