We are seeking a detail-oriented Endoscopy Technician/GI Tech to support physicians and nursing staff during endoscopy procedures. This role is responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining endoscopes and accessories, assisting with patient care, and ensuring all instrumentation is properly prepared and available.
Key Responsibilities
Clean, decontaminate, and process all endoscopes and accessories
Operate and maintain endoscope processors and autoclaves; perform quality assurance checks
Maintain aseptic technique in accordance with GI Lab standards
Assist with patient positioning and procedural support as directed
Support emergency situations under the supervision of physicians and RN staff
Clean and restock procedure rooms and processing areas
Assist in post-procedure recovery, including cleaning carts, changing linens, and patient discharge assistance
Participate in quality assurance, incident reporting, and HIPAA compliance
Function as an active and cooperative member of the healthcare team
Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
Medical Assistant or Surgical Technician training preferred
CPR Certification Required
Prior experience with endoscopy processing preferred
Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions
Ability to properly maintain endoscopic equipment
Ability to assist with patient care under RN supervision
