Job Description
INSPECTION TECHNICIAN
Job Summary:
The Inspection Helper will assist job Foreman and crew with various duties associated with inspection of steel structures.
Job Duties:
- Assists with staging equipment
- Assists with operations of drone equipment
- Takes photos of structures
- Takes thickness readings for steel structures
- Document work as needed
- Climb and inspect towers for defects, safety, and code violations
- The above list of duties is not to be construed as an exhaustive list. Other duties logically associated with the position may be assigned
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older
- Must be comfortable with working in high places
- Ability to follow safety policies and procedures
- Works well with a team
- Able to drive a company vehicle safely to field sites
- Possesses strong problem-solving skills
- Manages time effectively
- Detail-oriented
- Must be willing to travel 4 to 5 weeks at a time across the country
- Ability to lift 40lbs on regular basis
- Ability to pass OSHA 10.
- Ability to pass CPR/First Aid.
- Ability to pass RF Awareness.
- Ability to pass Tower Climbing Certifications including Tower Rescue (Comtrain)
- Comfortable with climbing heights up to 2000’
- Valid driver's license and pass insurance requirements to drive a company vehicle.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb or balance; use hands and fingers; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
