Intermodal and Dedicated Dispatcher

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Oversee the daily coordination of drivers, equipment, and safety concerns for dedicated accounts
• Dispatching and managing driver and customer workflow activity
• Coordinate with the International Team on availability of drivers and plan in advance best methods of customer requests and capacity demands
• Check port websites for available containers and return scheduling for both Import & Export containers
• Work with Pitt Ohio Linehaul & Terminal Managers in order to create efficiencies and save empty miles
• Coordinate the implementation of equipment on site, driver on-boarding, as well as training in accordance with commitment date to client
• Provide timely & accurate invoicing, metrics, and reports as required for various accounts
• Meet with customers virtually and face to face, while providing company and industry updates, service metrics, and improvements and enhancements
• Enter and monitor loads in our TMS system (Logiflow)
• Create Pickups and Manifest transactions in Eboard & Maven
• Maintain equipment pool location inventory
• Oversee Dedicated Operations lifecycle:
  • Collaborate with local PITT OHIO Terminal Operations team to staff dedicated operation
    • Ensure driver call-offs are filled with PITT OHIO LTL drivers in accordance with Customer SOP
    • Ensure equipment breakdowns are replaced in accordance with Customer SOP and within 2 hours of incident
  • Oversee the Administrative functions (including driver hours) and invoicing for all Dedicated accounts within specified contract terms
  • Have regular interaction with Dedicated driver team:
    • Collaborate with Safety Department to conduct quarterly Safety training
    • Provide Operations, Sales & Pricing team(s) feedback on as to the daily operation for each Dedicated account, as well as opportunities for improvement
    • Build & maintain customer relationships, making visits on a bi-annual basis (at a minimum)
    • Build strong driver relationships
• Ability to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned

• Provide rate quotes to customers as needed
• Schedule and secure loads in a timely manner
• Coordinate with Vehicle Maintenance preventive maintenance and replacement of equipment when needed
• Tender the load for transportation and track the shipment from pick up through delivery
• Complete or assist other Supply Chain projects as needed.

• Command of English language to communicate effectively with internal and external customers
• Undergraduate degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business preferred but not required
• 1-2 years Transportation industry experience strongly preferred
• Must possess excellent interpersonal, verbal, written communication skills and have the ability to multi-task
• Intermediate comprehension of Microsoft Office Software products including Excel, Word and Outlook
• Ability to develop and manage relationships with managers, customers, and operations employees
• Previous customer service/telephone experience preferred
• Ability to work individually and as part of a team
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with all levels of internal and external customers
• Strong math, problem solving and analytical skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule
