Administrative Assistant to Chief Financial Officer
Position Summary
The Administrative Assistant to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) provides high
level administrative and operations support to the CFO while coordinating and
administering employee benefits for the organization. This position assists with
financial office operations, maintains confidential records, supports payroll and
benefits functions, and serves as a liaison between employees, insurance providers,
and third-party administrators.

Duties and Responsibilities
Administrative Support to CFO
- Provide direct administrative support to the Chief Financial Officer and finance
- Prepare correspondence, reports, presentation, spreadsheets, and other financial or
- Maintain calendars, schedule meetings and coordinate department activities
- Assist with budget preparation, financial reporting, audits, and data collection
- Maintain and organize confidential financial and personnel records in accordance
- Prepare materials for Board of Education meetings, finance department meetings,
- Respond to inquiries from staff, vendors, and the public regarding finance and
- Assist with purchasing, accounts payable, payroll support, and other business
- Support special projects and audits as needed
- Maintain current knowledge of employee insurance plans, coverage options,
- Process payroll benefit deductions, enrollment change, and discrepancy
- Coordinate and maintain Affordable Care Act (ACA) compliance reporting
- Administer employee benefits programs for NERSBA, including enrollment
- Collaborate with district departments regarding employee benefits
- Process monthly insurance payroll uploads and reconcile benefit payment
- Coordinate COBRA eligibility, required documentation, notifications, and
- Prepare and distribute employee exit benefits documentation for departing
Administrative Assistant Functions-General Duties
- Maintain effective communication and positive working relationships with all
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Chief
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Knowledge of general office management and administrative procedures
- Knowledge of employee benefits administration and payroll processes
- Knowledge of school district finance operations preferred
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial and personnel
- Ability to interpret policies, procedures, and benefit guidelines
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and customer service skills
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Word
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with district
Minimum Training And Experience
- Associate degree in business administration, accounting, finance, human
- Minimum of three years of experience in administrative support, finance, payroll,
- Equivalent combination of education and experience considered
Term of Employment: 12 months
