What are the responsibilities and job description for the Handyman position at Pitman Construction?
Pitman Construction, a 40 year-old, locally-owned construction company, is now hiring for a FULL-TIME HANDYMAN to join our team. This position would travel the Roanoke area, providing general maintenance and repairs.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Roof inspection and minor roof repair (clean gutters)
Handyman Projects (caulking, hanging fixtures, installing shelves)
Carpentry
Minor repairs (electrical, plumbing and HVAC)
Partner with vendors to schedule performance or preventative maintenance of structures, systems and equipment
Snow prep/minor snow removal
Other duties may include minor landscaping (mulching, planting flowers, spraying weeds), painting/staining, pressure washing, changing air and water filters, cleaning windows
Doing whatever it takes to fix a leak or repair a fixture!
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent
At least 1 year experience preferred
Maintenance or construction experience preferred
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and general computer skills
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
Time management
Must be able to lift 50-75 pounds on a regular basis
Not intimidated by extreme weather or heights
Be physically capable of performing the work needed
Pass background screening
General knowledge of electrical, plumbing and HVAC is preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
