About Us: SciTech Services is a trusted, locally-owned home improvement and repair company operating in the Blacksburg area. We take pride in delivering high-quality craftsmanship and exceptional customer service. We are currently expanding our team and looking for a dedicated Handyman Technician with specialized skills in drywall repair.
The Role: We need a versatile and detail-oriented professional who can handle a variety of residential and light commercial repair tasks, with a primary focus on flawless drywall installation, patching, and texturing. You will be responsible for turning around diverse maintenance and remodeling projects while ensuring the highest standards of safety and cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities
- Drywall Expertise: Hang, tape, mud, and sand drywall. Match existing wall textures (orange peel, knockdown, smooth, etc.).
- General Handyman Tasks: Perform light carpentry, minor plumbing and electrical fixes, fixture replacements, and painting.
- Project Management: Accurately assess repair needs, prep job sites, and complete projects within estimated timeframes.
- Customer Service: Maintain a professional appearance, communicate project progress clearly to homeowners, and deliver 5-star customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- 3 years of proven professional experience in drywall repair and general home maintenance/handyman work.
- Own reliable transportation to travel to job sites throughout the NRV region (valid Driver's License and clean record required).
- Your own standard set of hand and power tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
