What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Coordinator (Nursing Education) position at PITC Institute?
Description: Work in cooperation with the faculty, Career Services, and Clinical site supervisors to prepare, place, monitor, and evaluate students participating in the Clinical course. Identify, evaluate, contract with, and visit Clinical Sites on an ongoing basis. Develop new clinical sites. Serve as the school liaison with the Clinical Site and ensure that all objectives of the Clinical experience are met.
NOTE: THIS IS NOT A REMOTE JOB. ONSITE AT OUR WYNCOTE, PA CAMPUS
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- Hold a current, valid nursing license in the state of Pennsylvania
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure that students are prepared academically, technically, and professionally
- Identify and contract new Clinical sites, visit new sites, and potential site supervisors. Conduct clinical orientation workshops, assign students to Clinical sites, and assure all students report to their clinical sites.
- Ensure all Clinical sites have completed and signed a clinical affiliation agreement and have received copies of the needed documents. Overview of weekly time sheets, performance evaluations, etc.
- Meet with payroll bi-weekly
- Serve as a school liaison with the Clinical sites.
- Track attendance and clinical makeups
- Ensure all students are cleared and qualified for Clinical prior to Clinical start.
- Visit all clinical sites to monitor and assess student progress.
- Communicate regularly with the site supervisors regarding student progress, skills, behavior, attitude, attendance, etc. With the site supervisor, perform a final performance review on each student
- On a weekly basis collect, monitor, and submit weekly time sheets, homework assignments, and performance evaluations if applicable.
- Regularly update the Compliance Team on student progress.
- Provide a course syllabus to all Clinical students.
- Enforce and adhere to school policies and procedures to keep accurate chronological records of student advising.
- Maintain budgeted retention levels for students participating in the Clinical course.
- Attend faculty meetings, in-service programs, etc. as scheduled.
- Perform other duties as required to maintain a quality Clinical Course and program.
- An individual whose primary responsibility is the classroom instruction of students in their program(s) and the administrative responsibilities generated by following the curriculum and regulatory standards. Plan, prepare and deliver quality classroom instruction in lecture and/or laboratory formats based on the approved curricula.
- Lead and manage students and direct learning activities in the classroom, laboratory, and Clinical setting in approved Clinical agencies (I.E. long-term care facilities and hospitals).
- Knowledge and understanding of professional career paths for which students are enrolled.
- Work hours may deviate from traditional timeframes, IE: evenings and/or weekends.
