This role focuses on new account development and wallet-share growth with fleet, industrial, and field-based operations where unplanned downtime from hose failures is expensive and disruptive.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect, qualify, and close new business with companies in construction, oil and gas, trucking/transport, mining, recycling, manufacturing, and agriculture that rely on hydraulic and industrial hoses.
- Promote PIRTEK’s 24/7/365 mobile on-site hose service with 1‑hour ETA as the fastest way to reduce downtime from hose failures.
- Conduct regular visits, and plant walk-throughs to identify equipment using hydraulic and industrial hoses and uncover preventative maintenance and emergency service opportunities.
- Present PIRTEK’s full product offering, including medium to ultra-high-pressure hydraulic hoses, industrial hoses (aggregate, chemical, air, etc.), D.O.T. air brake hoses, fittings, and one of the industry’s most extensive adapter catalogs.
- Educate customers on preventative maintenance programs that reduce catastrophic hose failures, spills, and safety/environmental risks.
- Work closely with the operations team and mobile service technicians to ensure a seamless customer experience from quote to on-site service completion.
- Track and report on pipeline activity, call frequency, quotes, and closed business within the assigned territory.
- Represent PIRTEK professionally at industry events, safety meetings, and toolbox talks to build brand awareness and trust.
- Heavy construction and earthmoving contractors using excavators, loaders, dozers, cranes, and other hydraulic equipment.
- Oilfield service companies, drilling and completion contractors, and midstream operators with hose-intensive equipment and high downtime costs.
- Trucking and logistics fleets that need robust hydraulic and industrial hoses plus D.O.T. air brake hoses and fittings.
- Recycling, waste, and compactor operations, as well as manufacturing plants, mining operations, and large farms requiring fast, reliable hose service.
- 2 years of successful sales experience, preferably in industrial, MRO, oilfield services, construction equipment, or related fields.
- Working knowledge of hydraulic systems, hoses, or industrial equipment is strongly preferred, or the mechanical aptitude to learn quickly.
- Proven track record of hunting for new business, meeting face-to-face with customers in the field, and hitting sales targets.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with field supervisors, mechanics, shop managers, and procurement teams.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; comfortable spending most of the day in the field visiting customer sites.
- Base salary plus commission structure tied to new account wins, revenue growth, and margin, aligned with outside industrial sales roles.
- Vehicle allowance or company vehicle, fuel card, and cell phone allowance.
