This position plays a critical role in driving innovation, improving existing product lines, and supporting business growth through the successful development and launch of new engineered solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead new product development initiatives from concept through design, testing, and production.
- Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate engineering activities for new and existing product development projects.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and PTP engineering practices.
- Develop detailed product designs, specifications, and documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Sales, Quality Control, and Purchasing.
- Evaluate product performance and implement design improvements as needed.
- Conduct feasibility studies, cost analysis, and risk assessments for new product concepts.
- Identify opportunities for innovation, product enhancements, and market expansion.
- Support prototype development, testing, and validation processes.
- Ensure smooth transition of new products into manufacturing and production.
- Develop and review engineering drawings, models, and specifications.
- Coordinate prototype fabrication and product testing.
- Analyze test results and refine product designs accordingly.
- Work closely with manufacturing teams to optimize product design for production efficiency.
- Prepare and maintain product documentation, including bills of materials and technical manuals.
- Provide engineering input for project schedules, timelines, and forecasts.
- Participate in product review meetings and cross-functional discussions.
- Assist in preparing technical proposals and product presentations.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives for existing product lines.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience
- 3 years of experience in product development, design engineering, or industrial equipment manufacturing preferred.
- Experience with piping systems, pipe supports, or related industrial products is a strong plus.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar).
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and materials.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes (fabrication, machining, welding).
- Familiarity with ASME codes and industry standards is a plus.
- Experience with CAESAR II (pipe stress analysis) is a plus.
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience considered.
