What are the responsibilities and job description for the Driver (Full-time) position at PIPER SHORES?
Piper Shores is Maine’s premier nonprofit continuing care retirement community, offering Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Skilled Nursing Care for our residents with a person-centered approach to care.
Drivers are responsible for the for the timely and safe transportation of all passengers to and from on-site parking locations. The driver will be responsible for arrival and departures, on a set schedule as needed, to ensure all arrive on time. The driver will provide compassionate, honest and accountable care while respecting Resident needs, preferences and choices.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm
Essential Job Duties:
- Picks up and delivers passengers daily to arrive and depart on time from Piper Shores campus.
- Completes a safety check of the vehicle before transporting daily passengers.
- Accurately records vehicle mileage and passenger number attendance for all scheduled transportation.
- Maintains vehicle cleanliness inside and out.
- Ensures all Piper Shores’ vehicles are fueled up and in proper operating condition. Submits gas receipts to LEC.
- Notifies supervisor of necessary vehicle repairs and/or malfunctions.
- Notifies supervisor of passenger concerns, problems, or incidents immediately.
- Performs miscellaneous trips for Administration as necessary.
Skills and Qualifications:
- High school or equivalent education preferred. Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, read maps efficiently, and perform simple arithmetic.
- Valid driver’s license in the State of Maine and good driving record.
- Must be able to maintain a courteous, friendly, and helpful manner with staff and residents at all times.
- Must be able to interpret and follow map directions.
- Must be able to perform routine maintenance on vehicles and to keep vehicles clean.
