You will enjoy a working schedule of Monday - Friday from 7:00am – 3:30pm. We are offering $120,000.00 annually for this position.

We are looking for a Production Manager to oversee and direct all on-site activities, ensuring adherence to safety regulations, quality standards and project requirements. You will also be responsible for the project’s document management, fostering a productive work environment and maintaining solid relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.


Here's what you'll need:


Rail Car Production Oversight

  • Manage and direct production, installation, retrofit, and upgrade activities for rail car mechanical, electrical, and onboard technology systems.
  • Develop and maintain production schedules, work instructions, and operational documentation to support rail car modifications and system deployments.
  • Oversee testing and commissioning activities, ensuring functional, integration, and acceptance testing are completed accurately and on time.
  • Ensure all production work adheres to FRA, APTA, OEM, and internal compliance standards.
  • Partner with engineering, QA, and systems teams to resolve technical issues, support design changes, and improve overall system reliability.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and implement process improvements to enhance throughput and reduce downtime.


Field Technician Leadership

  • Supervise, schedule, and support field technicians performing installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and inspections on rolling stock.
  • Provide hands‑on guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure technician competency and growth.
  • Enforce safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures, and rail yard operational rules across all field activities.
  • Monitor daily progress, verify work quality, and ensure tasks are completed according to specification and project timelines.
  • Coordinate tools, materials, and equipment required for field operations.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex issues encountered during installation or maintenance.


Operational Coordination & Reporting

  • Interface with rail agencies, OEMs, contractors, and project managers to align production schedules, field activities, and resource planning.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts consumed, and system configurations for audit and compliance purposes.
  • Support inventory management, procurement, and logistics to ensure uninterrupted production and field operations.
  • Prepare status reports, KPIs, and operational documentation for internal leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, safety, and system reliability.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or equivalent experience.
  • 3–7 years of experience working with rail cars, rolling stock, or heavy transportation equipment.
  • Proven experience supervising or coordinating field technicians or maintenance crews.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and/or control systems used in rail vehicles.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
  • Experience with production planning, installation workflows, or maintenance program management.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work in rail yards, maintenance facilities, and field environments.
