Overview
Our client is seeking a senior electrical engineering leader to drive technical strategy and execution across utility-scale solar and energy storage projects, while also supporting the performance and optimization of operating assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical oversight for both new project development and existing plant operations
- Partner cross-functionally with project management and procurement teams to deliver projects on schedule and within budget
- Act as the primary technical liaison with EPCs, vendors, utilities, and regulatory bodies
- Guide engineering studies, feasibility assessments, and design reviews
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and safety requirements
- Identify and implement performance improvements across operating assets
- Evaluate and integrate new technologies to enhance efficiency and reliability
- Maintain clear and accurate technical documentation and specifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (advanced degree preferred)
- 15 years of electrical engineering experience, including 5 years of utility-scale solar projects
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing engineering teams or functions
- Strong expertise in MV/HV systems, substations, protection & control, and grid interconnection
- Working knowledge of U.S. standards (NEC, IEEE) and ERCOT interconnection requirements
- Experience collaborating with EPC contractors and supporting construction activities
- Proven ability to lead design reviews and manage technical documentation
