Location: Boulder, CO or Remote

Salary Expectations: $190,000-$220,000 bonus

Piper Maddox is working with a rapidly growing US utility-scale battery energy storage developer in the renewable energy industry as they continue to scale their finance team. We are looking for a Financial Controller to own accounting and financial reporting across the corporate platform and project entities.

This is an opportunity to join a growing organization and take ownership in building scalable accounting infrastructure as the company expands its project portfolio, entities, and capital partnerships. The Financial Controller will lead the monthly close, consolidations, cash and balance-sheet controls, audit and tax coordination, and financial reporting to management, lenders, investors, and other capital partners.

What you will do

• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across corporate and project entities, including consolidations and eliminations
• Maintain the general ledger, account reconciliations, fixed-asset records, project-cost accounting, and supporting schedules
• Prepare accurate financial statements, management reporting, project reporting, and information required by lenders and investors
• Support the evaluation and execution of prospective investments through financial modeling, due diligence coordination, and participation in deal structuring, negotiation, and transaction execution
• Support debt and tax credit financing transactions through financial modeling, due diligence coordination
• Assist in the preparation of investment committee memoranda and Board materials supporting greenfield and M&A investment approvals

What you will have

• Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, consolidations, balance-sheet controls, and audit requirements
• 8 years of progressive accounting experience, including ownership of close processes and financial-statement preparation
• Experience within energy, infrastructure, project companies, construction accounting, or investment structures preferred
• CPA certification preferred
