Telephony Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking a Telephony Engineer for a long term contract opportunity to join an established healthcare organization in Hershey, PA. This position is hybrid, requiring 1-2 days on-site per week initially. The Telephony Engineer should have experience in CS1000 systems and Avaya platforms to manage, configure, and support enterprise voice infrastructure

Responsibilities of the Nortel Engineer:

• Maintain and troubleshoot Nortel CS1000 systems, including programming and administration.
• Configure and manage Terminal Number Blocks (TNBs) and Directory Service Configuration (DSC).
• Design, implement, and manage routing within Avaya Session Manager.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure reliable voice network operations.
• Support upgrades, migrations, and system integrations.
  
  

Qualification of the Nortel Engineer:

• Proven hands-on experience with Nortel CS1000 administration and programming.
• Strong knowledge of TNBs and DSC within Nortel environments.
• Experience with Avaya Session Manager routing.
• Solid understanding of voice network architecture and protocols (VoIP, SIP).
• Familiarity with Avaya Communication Manager and System Manager (preferred).
• Avaya certifications such as ACSS or ACIS (a plus).
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
  
  

Compensation for the Nortel Engineer:

• Hourly Rate: $50.00 -$60.00 ***depending on experience***
