Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to support an industry leader in American tobacco manufacturing for a 12 month contract term, hybrid role based in Greensboro, NC. The Senior Infrastructure Engineer role focuses on providing technical leadership across the organization's enterprise infrastructure.

Responsibilities of the Senior Infrastructure Engineer:

• Providing senior level technical leadership and oversight to ensure reliable delivery and performance of company's enterprise Windows, virtualization, and storage environments.
• Design, implement, administer, and support Windows Server infrastructure, including Active Directory, Group Policy, patching, and system hardening.
• Lead the design, deployment, and ongoing management of VMware vSphere environments, including ESXi hosts, vCenter, clustering, resource optimization, and high availability.
• Design, manage, and support enterprise storage platforms (SAN/NAS), including capacity planning, performance optimization, data protection, and lifecycle management.
• Coordinate and execute system maintenance, upgrades, patches, and new technology deployments in accordance with established change management procedures.
• Deliver complex infrastructure projects within aggressive timelines and budget constraints.
  
  

Qualifications of the Senior Infrastructure Engineer:

• 8 years of prior infrastructure experience
• Proven experience with Windows, VMware, and Storage
• Prior experience with IT lifecycle refresh, disaster recovery
• Proven experience with capacity planning for physical and virtual server and storage platforms
• Experience in Linux/AIX preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  
  

Compensation for the Senior Infrastructure Engineer includes:

• Salary range: $135,200 – $140,000 USD per year depending on professional experience
