Senior Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer ( - 174744

Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer (Azure) to support a leading organization in building and maintaining secure, scalable cloud environments. The Senior Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer will play a key role in designing, deploying, and optimizing Azure infrastructure to support both enterprise IT workloads and modern application platforms. This position will be onsite 4 days per week in Bethesda, MD.

Responsibilities of the Senior Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer include:

• Design, deploy, and support Azure infrastructure across compute, storage, and networking
• Build and manage infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM)
• Implement secure Azure networking architectures including Private Link and hub-and-spoke models
• Support backup, disaster recovery, and resiliency solutions (Azure Backup, Site Recovery)
• Troubleshoot production issues and ensure reliability and performance of cloud environments
• Partner with application teams to support PaaS services and CI/CD enablement
• Collaborate with Security, IT Operations, and stakeholders on architecture and changes
  
  

Qualifications of the Senior Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer include:

• 7 years of experience in infrastructure, cloud, or systems engineering
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure in production environments
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Bicep, ARM, or similar)
• Strong understanding of Azure networking, identity, and security concepts
• Experience supporting backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and support complex cloud environments
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience designing secure Azure networking architectures (Private Endpoints, segmentation)
• Familiarity with Azure Site Recovery, Azure Backup, and Azure SQL backup models
• Experience supporting modern application platforms and CI/CD pipelines
• Background in financial services or other regulated environments
  
  

Compensation for the Senior Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer includes:

Salary: $130,000 – $150,000 annually (based on experience)
