Zachary Piper is seeking a Human Engineer to join the team in St Louis, Mo. You’ll help design and evaluate aerospace systems so they’re safe, effective, and easy for people to use.

- Use human engineering principles to analyze and design complex aerospace systems.
- Define requirements to make sure people can safely and effectively operate the system.
- Apply human performance research to improve system usability.
- Plan and conduct studies, tests, and prototype evaluations.
- Use military standards (e.g., MIL‑STD‑1472, MIL‑STD‑1787, MIL‑STD‑3009) in design work.
- Work with teams across engineering disciplines to integrate human engineering into system development.
- Run user research activities such as interviews, focus groups, and field studies.
- Occasionally travel and support after-hours work.
- Work onsite full‑time.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must be able to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance and special program access.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, human factors, cognitive psychology, or another relevant field.
- 3 years of experience in human engineering or a related area (or equivalent education/experience).
- Ergonomics or human factors certification.
- Knowledge of Human Systems Integration (HSI).
- Experience working with military standards and defense programs.
- Ability to write Human Engineering plans, reports, and documentation.
- Experience with UI prototyping tools and usability software.
- Familiarity with human cognition, workload assessment (e.g., NASA TLX), human performance modeling, and workflow/task analysis.
- Experience with Agile development and UI style guides.
- Model‑Based Systems Engineering experience.
- Ability to assess designs using Human Readiness Levels (HRLs).
- Typically:
- Bachelor’s 5 years experience, or
- Master’s 3 years experience, or equivalent.
Salary : $120,000 - $155,000
