Responsibilities
- Perform rigging operations using cranes, boom trucks, forklifts, backhoes, excavators, and other heavy equipment to lift, move, and position materials safely.
- Conduct thorough inspections of rigging gear, slings, shackles, and lifting devices before each use to ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Coordinate with site supervisors and team members to plan lifting sequences and determine the best rigging techniques for each task.
- Operate cranes and other heavy machinery with precision while adhering to load limits and safety guidelines.
- Handle materials efficiently within warehouse environments, including shipping & receiving activities and warehouse organization.
- Maintain detailed records of all rigging activities, inspections, and equipment usage for accountability and safety audits.
- Follow all safety procedures related to construction site operations, including proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and hazard identification.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot rigging equipment and heavy machinery issues.
- Proven experience in construction site environments involving crane operation, heavy equipment handling, and materials management.
- Skilled in rigging techniques, including slinging loads securely for safe lifting operations.
- Valid commercial driver’s license with experience operating trucks such as boom trucks or flatbeds is preferred.
- Proficiency in materials handling equipment such as forklifts, backhoes, excavators, and warehouse tools.
- Excellent understanding of construction safety standards and OSHA regulations related to rigging and heavy equipment operation.
- Certified rigger operator card.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining focus on safety and efficiency.
