Responsibilities
- Operate cranes and heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, and front loader trucks with precision and safety awareness.
- Conduct pre-operation inspections on cranes and machinery to ensure optimal functioning and safety compliance.
- Safely lift, move, and position construction materials including concrete mixers, water trucks, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and tanker trucks.
- Coordinate with site managers and team members to plan lifting sequences and ensure smooth workflow.
- Follow all safety protocols, including adhering to OSHA standards and company policies during equipment operation.
- Maintain detailed logs of equipment usage, inspections, and maintenance needs.
- Assist in setting up work zones by positioning cranes and other heavy machinery accurately for various construction tasks.
Skills
- Proven experience operating cranes in a construction environment with a strong understanding of load capacities and safety procedures.
- Mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment such as Caterpillar machinery, excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, water trucks, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, tanker trucks, and farm machinery.
- Valid certification as a Crane Operator with up to 100 ton hydraulic crane from an accredited program; relevant licenses for commercial driving are a plus.
- Familiarity with construction site operations including concrete mixing processes and the use of various heavy equipment like front loader trucks and water trucks.
- Ability to read technical manuals and interpret load charts accurately.
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members and site supervisors effectively.
- Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks in outdoor environments under varying weather conditions.
