Physical Therapist

Essential Functions

• Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
• Evaluates patient upon initial encounter to assess impairment and current condition to estimate rehabilitation potential.
• Plans physical therapy treatment program for each patient, based on the assessment, including training in functional mobility, use of assistive devices, therapeutic exercise, balance and coordination retraining, massage, heat, and cryotherapy.
• Applies diagnostic and progressive muscle, nerve, joint and functional ability tests.
• Directs and aids patient in therapeutic regimen. Delegates routine care to supportive personnel as appropriate. Acts in a supervisory role to ensure proper execution of tasks.
• When treating Medicare patients, collects data necessary for Medicare billing and explains the Medicare billing process to patient and family. Also provides the necessary billing documentation to the Medicare claims coordinator for billing purposes.
• Adapts conventional physical therapy techniques to meet the needs of patients unable to comprehend verbal commands or voluntarily carry out a regime of therapeutic exercises.
• Conducts and participates in training medical and nursing personnel in physical therapy techniques and objectives.
• Evaluates, records and reports on patient progress for review by other members of the rehabilitative team. Communicates effectively with physician, other members of rehabilitation team and others as indicated regarding treatment plan and patient response to plan.
• Counsels patient and family according to degree of disability or impairment.
• Completes all required documentation thoroughly and in a timely manner.
• Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings. Participates in continuing education program to ensure appropriate units are attained for maintenance of State license.
• Adheres to the safety guidelines as outlined by the facility and reports unsafe equipment, areas, practices, etc., as required by policy.
• Adheres to the standards and policies of the corporate compliance program, including the duty to comply with applicable laws and regulation, and report to a designated manager (or employer hotline) any suspected unethical, fraudulent, or unlawful acts or practices

Education and Experience

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Must be a graduate of an approved school of physical therapy and hold a valid physical therapist license in Colorado.  A Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy is required and a Doctor in Physical Therapy is preferred.
• Previous experience as a working Physical Therapist is preferred, but not required.

Skills and Abilities

• Must be able to perform the extensive & comprehensive duties required to provide physical therapy.
• At minimum, be able to communicate in English (read, write, and speak).
• Be able to work independently and proactively.
• Be able to follow written and oral instructions.

Hourly wage:

$37.00 - $51.26
