What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tree Service Groundsman (Oak Harbor) position at Pioneer Tree Service & Landscaping, Inc.?
We are looking for a tree service groudsman that enjoys working outside, is dependable, highly motivated and can take on a leadership role. We are a local tree and landscaping business that is family owned and operated that is looking to expand our team.
Ideal qualifications include:
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Able to operate various equipment operation (stump grinders, aerial platforms, bucket trucks, chainsaws)
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Ability to work well with a team
- CDL is a plus but not required
- Previous arborist / groundsman / landscape experience also a bonus
Job Responsibilities
- Assist climbers, forepersons and other crew members who perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully
- Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more
- Haul and chip brush and debris, leaving the work site clean and clear
- Responsive to visual cues and hand signals from the climber and acting promptly with the ground support
- Being attentive to the climber’s cues throughout the job, always keeping their eyes on the climber
- Direct road and sidewalk traffic as needed by use of warning devices and other methods
- Collaborate with team members to execute tree care tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and equipment used.
- Support certified arborists in assessing tree health and implementing care strategies.
