The Role at a Glance
As a Babbitt Casting Specialist, you will apply molten babbitt to bearing components using both static and spin-casting techniques. Babbitting is a core step in our manufacturing and repair workflow, and you will be central to delivering precision and durability on every job.
A Day in the Life
- Prepare and disassemble fluid film bearings for rework and casting.
- Grit blast surfaces to achieve proper adhesion and finish.
- Set up and dial in spin-casting equipment for specific part requirements.
- Apply babbitt by static pour or spin casting, depending on the geometry and specification.
- Hands-on knowledge of foundry/casting room tools and equipment.
- Working understanding of ferrous and non‑ferrous metals.
- TIG welding capability.
- Fabrication experience.
- Skill with acetylene torch work.
- Knowledge of furnaces and melting pots.
- Competence with overhead crane operation.
- Ability to read and work from routings, drawings, and process sheets.
- Strong troubleshooting mindset.
- Clear communication and solid interpersonal skills.
- Self-directed, able to work independently.

- Indoor casting foundry setting with hot work.
- Frequently lift and move up to 50 lbs.
- Regularly stoop, bend, crawl, reach, stand, and walk.
- Ability to read, write, speak, hear, focus, and interpret complex technical information.
