The Opportunity You will take command of high-profile field operations for a family-owned industry leader with a 40-year track record of success. This role puts you at the helm of critical New York infrastructure projects, providing you the autonomy to drive site success without corporate interference.
How You Will Make an Impact
- Orchestrate all on-site construction activities from initial mobilization through final project closeout.
- Synchronize subcontractors, vendors, and internal crews to ensure strict adherence to the project timeline.
- Validate that all field work remains in full compliance with NYSDOT, MTA, and municipal specifications.
- Champion a culture of safety by enforcing OSHA protocols and project-specific safety plans daily.
- Document comprehensive daily site logs and progress reports to maintain total project transparency.
- Resolve complex field obstacles proactively to eliminate potential delays and prevent cost overruns.
- Interface directly with agency inspectors and representatives to secure necessary approvals and maintain quality standards.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Project Superintendent or in a comparable field leadership role.
- Proven track record managing field operations for New York agencies such as NYSDOT, MTA, or NYC Parks.
- Strong expertise in site logistics, workforce allocation, and heavy equipment management.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Expert-level understanding of civil construction plans, specifications, and contract documents.
- Formal OSHA 30 safety training certifications.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
- Advanced knowledge of Nassau and Suffolk County municipal construction requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to lead site meetings and progress walkthroughs with engineers and inspectors.
- Deep knowledge of NYC park projects is a major plus for upcoming projects.
