What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Monitor position at Pioneer Central School District?
DUTIES:
- Monitoring hallways and cafeteria providing supervision of students
- Provide escorts from classes at the request of administration
- Gather work for students from teachers
- Encourage positive behavior while quickly addressing negative behaviors
- Clean & wash hallway spills and sweep floors as needed
- Communicate regularly with other monitors/staff
- Ensure a safe and orderly environment
- Use of 2-way radio for communication with office and administrators
- Other duties as assigned by building administrators
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED:
- Must have high school diploma or equivalent
- Prospective employees must receive state and federal clearance based on a fingerprint-supported criminal history background check. Details are available from the district personnel office.
- Good verbal communication skills
- Ability to interact positively with faculty, staff and students on a daily basis
