POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Event Sales Consultant (1099) – Pins Mechanical Co. Austin is responsible for driving outbound event sales and generating new business for our Austin location. This role focuses solely on proactive outreach — identifying, engaging, and converting new clients into booked events that showcase the unique Pins Mechanical experience.
The ideal candidate is a natural connector and self-starter with a strong hunter mentality, relentless drive, and a passion for building relationships. This person thrives on outbound activity, enjoys the challenge of prospecting, and takes pride in growing event revenue through consistent effort and exceptional communication.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Proactively generate new event business for Pins Mechanical Co. Austin through outbound calls, emails, LinkedIn outreach, and networking.
- Build and manage a pipeline of qualified prospects across corporate, social, and non-profit segments.
- Research and target companies, organizations, and planners in the Austin market to identify new opportunities.
- Schedule and lead in-person or virtual site tours for qualified leads.
- Maintain all lead activity, communications, and status updates in TripleSeat (CRM).
- Consistently meet or exceed monthly outbound activity goals and booked revenue targets.
- Represent Pins Mechanical Co. Austin at local networking events, trade shows, and community gatherings as a brand ambassador.
- Collaborate with the on-site event operations team to ensure seamless handoff of confirmed bookings.
- Conduct timely follow-ups after outreach or events to encourage repeat business and referrals.
- Stay current on Austin-area market trends, competitors, and local happenings to identify new sales angles.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, business, marketing, or related field — or 5 years of equivalent outbound sales experience.
- 2–4 years of proven success in outbound or B2B sales; hospitality or event sales experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of the Austin market and local business community.
- Demonstrated ability to generate leads, manage a pipeline, and close deals through consistent outbound effort.
- Familiarity with TripleSeat or similar CRM/event management software preferred.
- Highly motivated self-starter with excellent organization, follow-up, and communication skills.
- Resilient, results-driven, and comfortable with rejection.
- Ability to travel locally for meetings, tours, and networking events as needed.
- Positive, energetic, and passionate about representing the Pins Mechanical Co. brand.
COMPENSATION STRUCTURE:
This is a straight commission position, offering 10% commission on all contracted event sales generated by the consultant. There is no base salary, and earnings are directly tied to performance. High-performing consultants have unlimited earning potential based on their ability to drive new business and close event contracts.
