Responsibilities
- Operate excavators and other heavy machinery such as dozers, backhoes, graders, loaders, water trucks, dump trucks, tankers, and horizontal drilling equipment to perform excavation and construction tasks.
- Conduct routine maintenance and safety checks on construction machinery to ensure optimal performance and compliance with equipment safety procedures.
- Perform construction utility work including utility locating and installation to support infrastructure development.
- Follow federal construction safety regulations and safety regulations to maintain a safe work environment for all team members.
- Assist with construction grading, site preparation, and paving activities to meet project specifications.
- Support construction site operations by operating additional equipment such as loaders, bulldozers (dozers), graders, water trucks, and tankers as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow while adhering to all safety protocols and construction standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating excavators and other heavy equipment in a construction setting.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of construction machinery maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures.
- Experience with utility locating, horizontal drilling, paving, and general excavation work is highly desirable.
- Valid commercial driver’s license with experience in commercial truck driving preferred.
- Ability to perform construction grading and utility work accurately on diverse sites.
- Knowledge of Caterpillar (CAT) equipment operation is a plus; familiarity with dozer, backhoe operation, grader operation, water trucks, dump trucks, tankers is advantageous.
