Position Summary
This role involves testing oil pumps and performing moderate to semi-complex assembly and test functions. Ideal candidates will have a strong Aerospace or Automotive Assembly background with hands-on Hydraulics experience. The position requires precision, technical ability, and adherence to quality and safety standards in a high-technology manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform moderate to semi-complex assembly and test operations using mechanical skills, hand tools, power tools, fixtures, and measurement equipment.
- Set up test equipment for hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, and cryogenic testing based on product specifications.
- Verify test setup accuracy and adjust components to achieve required results.
- Conduct tests using common or computerized data acquisition systems (e.g., LabVIEW).
- Record and interpret test data using X-Y recorders, oscilloscopes, transducers, and related tools.
- Troubleshoot and repair issues identified during testing.
- Perform diagnostic teardown and rebuild tasks, evaluating component suitability.
- Produce and inspect assemblies to meet customer and industry standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, assembly routes, test specifications, and engineering orders.
- Follow lean manufacturing initiatives and identify areas for improvement.
- Communicate with manufacturing engineering and production control regarding product issues.
- Maintain safety standards and ensure a FOD-free work area.
- Assist in training and mentoring less experienced team members.
- Ensure all equipment is calibrated per schedule.
- Complete other related duties as required.
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of direct industry experience in assembly/testing within a high-technology manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of semi-complex products involving electronics, dual systems, and multiple part families.
- Strong mechanical reasoning with proven hydraulic and/or electrical background.
- Ability to research problems and implement solutions with multiple variables.
- Ability to work with limited supervision and set up most test fixtures independently.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, route sheets, and test specifications.
- Ability to perform semi-complex mathematical calculations.
- Knowledge of fluids theory, flow, pressure, friction, and leakage as applied to test environments.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience supporting lean initiatives and continuous improvement.
- Ability to use standard business software and specialized systems (PMR, TORS, email, etc.).
- Certifications such as soldering, FAA repair, or operator certification may be required depending on division needs.

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
