Position Summary – Painter
Pinnacle Precision Sheet Metal is looking for a Painter. Individual will use various painting techniques that will include powder coat and wet paint spraying. Material preparation such as sand blasting, cleaning, masking, among other techniques is required. This position reports directly to the paint Supervisor and is responsible to perform inspections, clean ups, proper storage, and disposal of paint products and operating various tools and equipment.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Prepare and mask parts for powder coat process
- Install paint on powder coat parts
- Bake parts at appropriate temperatures within time limitations
- Remove parts from oven
- Inspect powder coated parts for quality and consistency
- Follow all principles and practices of powder coating application
- Powder booth preventive maintenance; check and replace air filters as needed, disposal of powder properly and powder coating equipment
- Maintain a clean workstation
- Operate all coating equipment including guns, hoppers and booth collection systems
- Observe machine gauges and equipment operation to detect defects
- Determine paint flow, viscosity and coating quality by performing visual inspections or by using viscometers
- Knowledge of thermosetting resin coatings, wash and pretreatments
- Ensure that all components are produced/coated efficiently, and are consistent with company established goals for quality and customer order on-time performance
- Ensure quality standards and processes are used throughout facility
- Ensure safety guidelines are being met to assure a safe work environment
- Load and unload parts or product onto fixtures
- Good knowledge of the mechanics and repair of painting equipment
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Preferred 3 years powder coat and wet paint experience
- Read and interpret blueprints efficiently
- Must have strong computer skills and attention to detail
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, etc.
Work Environment
- This job operates on the floor of a manufacturing facility
Physical Demands
- Stand continuously and lift objects up to 30lbs
