Client:
Our client manages a $5 billion investment portfolio and has global affiliates located in the U.S, the U.K., and Switzerland. They are one of the world’s leading multidisciplinary institutions in basic research. The mission of the institute is science for the benefit of humanity. The institute owns one of the largest intellectual property portfolios in the world.
Opportunity:
This Investment Associate position is based in the New York City office, which currently operates under a hybrid work policy of three days in office and two days working remotely.
The Investment Associate position will be a key part of a small, tight-knit team of investment professionals. The position will have an opportunity to cover all developed/emerging market equity, hedge fund, private equity, real estate, fixed income, and resources strategies. The candidate is expected to serve 2-3 years in this role, with opportunities for advancement over time as warranted by the candidate’s demonstrated investment acumen and business judgment.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with external portfolio managers and investment staff to aid in all aspects of the investment due diligence process, including participating in meetings with current and prospective managers and contributing qualitative and quantitative analysis of investments
- Primary responsibility for portfolio analytics used to monitor existing investments and to evaluate future opportunities, using quantitative methods and third-party resources
- Analyzing portfolio performance, exposures, and liquidity; clearly and concisely communicating key conclusions of analysis to the team and other stakeholders
- Support the development of investment strategy papers/presentations and manager recommendations for the CIO and Investment Committee
- Attend and participate in internal research discussions and investment committee discussions
- Drive continuous process and quality improvements for data analysis
- Conduct macroeconomic research, portfolio specific reviews, or special projects as needed
- Represent our client at conferences and manager meetings
- Develop a professional network by establishing industry contacts
- Over time, form independent views on investments and asset classes
- Travel domestically and internationally
Qualifications:
- One to three years of related work experience preferred
- Strong academic record, including a bachelor’s degree
- Progress towards a CFA or CAIA charter strongly preferred
- Self-starter that is energetic, enthusiastic, and proactive, and willing to “go the extra mile”
- Produce work of the highest quality and the inclination to refine and improve processes over time
- Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities with attention to detail
- Excellent analytical, quantitative, reasoning, and communications skills
- Knowledge of financial principles, portfolio theory, statistics, asset allocation, and investment strategies
Note:
Target Base Compensation of $125k-150k.
Salary : $125,000 - $150,000
