The Opportunity
We're looking for a sharp, experienced accounting professional to take ownership of our financial operations. As Account Manager, you won't just manage numbers you'll be a key contributor to the financial health and strategic direction of our organization. This is an in-office position based in Greensboro, NC, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment and takes pride in running a tight, compliant, high-performing accounting department.
What You'll Do
Lead Accounting Operations Take the helm of the accounting department's day-to-day workflow. You'll ensure accuracy and efficiency across accounts receivable, accounts payable, financial reporting, billing, collections, payroll, and budget preparation.
Own Payroll & Timecard Management Analyze, prepare, and process bi-weekly payroll while reviewing employee timecards for accuracy and full compliance with all applicable wage and hour laws. Precision here matters and you'll bring it.
Drive Compliance & Audit Readiness Develop and enforce internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation. You'll be the point person for external auditors and the go-to expert for state, federal, and financial reporting compliance.
Deliver Financial Analysis & Tax Oversight Lead tax planning and preparation throughout the fiscal year, collaborate with the company's CPA on annual corporate tax returns, and deliver financial analysis and strategic recommendations directly to executive leadership. Your insights will inform real decisions.
What You Bring
Experience & Education
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (required)
- 5 years of accounting management experience (required)
- Proven experience in AP/AR management and job costing within a professional services or billable-hours environment
- Experience reviewing client contracts, conducting competitive market analysis, and negotiating with vendors
Technical Skills
- Expert-level QuickBooks proficiency with a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience, including integration with HRIS/payroll platforms
- Strong command of financial, accounting, and tax preparation software, plus the ability to quickly learn proprietary and CRM systems
- Advanced Excel skills; solid working knowledge of the full MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Access)
- Experience with HRIS/HCM and payroll software; Paycom experience is a plus
