Position Summary:
Pinnacle Country Club in Rogers, Arkansas is seeking a motivated and hardworking Assistant in Training to join our Golf Course Maintenance team. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals interested in building a career in turf management and golf course operations. This role provides hands-on experience working alongside experienced staff to maintain the high standards and playability of our premier private golf course. This training role is designed to prepare individuals for advancement into an Assistant Superintendent position within the golf course maintenance industry.
Compensation & Benefits:
· $18.00 per hour, depending on experience

Key Responsibilities:
· Assist with mowing greens, tees, fairways, and roughs to maintain championship-level conditions
· Support bunker maintenance, including raking, edging, and detail work
· Help monitor and maintain irrigation systems, including inspecting and repairing sprinkler heads and watering turf areas
· Learn proper moisture management of bentgrass putting greens in the transition zone
· Assist with fertilizer and chemical applications under supervision and in accordance with safety standards
· Operate small equipment such as string trimmers, backpack blowers, and hand tools
· Participate in daily course setup, including changing hole locations and moving tee markers
· Follow all safety procedures and properly use personal protective equipment (PPE)
Training & Development:
· Receive structured, on-the-job training in turfgrass management and golf course maintenance practices
· Learn safe and effective operation of larger maintenance equipment
· Gain exposure to irrigation systems, pest management, and course conditioning techniques
· Develop teamwork, communication, and time management skills in a professional environment
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent required, secondary turfgrass management education preferred
· Strong interest in golf, landscaping, or outdoor work
· Positive attitude and willingness to learn from experienced team members
· Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required
· Basic mechanical aptitude is a plus
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
· Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
· Ability to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
