SPECIAL EDUCATION OFFICE ASSISTANT/SCHEDULER
Contract Period: Academic year schedule plus an additional 15 days (5 days before school starts, 5 days during the school year, 5 days at the end of the school year), 40 hours/week, non-exempt
Supervisor: Associate Dean of Academics-Director of Special Education
Qualifications: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Strong office and communication skills are essential. Proficiency in Google Workspace (Gmail, Sheets, Docs) is necessary. Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities, with experience in scheduling. A positive attitude, ability to maintain student confidentiality, and adherence to FERPA guidelines are expected. Must be capable of working both independently and as part of a team. Familiarity with special education timelines is a plus.

DUTIES:
- Schedule meetings for the Pinkerton Special Education Department & coordinate with special education team members.
- Coordinate with the 504 office assistant regarding available dates.
- Serve as backup to other office assistants within the department as needed.
- Assists with the overall needs of the office, including but not limited to answering telephones, screening calls, taking messages, promptly following up on emails, and providing information, while greeting visitors in a prompt, courteous, and helpful manner.
- Computer data entry of student info and typing of meeting notices and correspondence.
- Handles appointment requests with the appropriate scope of department practice.
- Counter duty – sign students in and out as needed.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by the Special Education Director.
