This position performs professional, technical and administrative work using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and other information technology software for the Parks and Conservation Resources Department. Completes technical analyses, supports operations, and develops workflows to support asset management and other departmental processes and strategies. Duties include, but are not limited to: developing, editing, and maintaining GIS data layers and metadata; interpreting aerial photographs; developing maps, reports, and other technical documents to support internal and external decisions; collecting field data using GPS; completing and automating GIS processing workflows; conducting complex spatial analysis; providing training and technical support for department GIS users; importing and processing CAD information; and assisting in the development and management of ESRI Enterprise GIS and Trimble Cityworks asset management applications for use by department staff and the general public. Work is performed under the general direction of a program supervisor.

What Will You Do?
- Demonstrate intermediate level knowledge of assignments that require the highest degree of quality, dependability, judgement, communications, and self-initiative in performance.
- Manages and performs a broad range of activities and assignments, both routine and complex, that requires effective multi-tasking while adhering to applicable departmental business processes.
- Identifies and analysis complex problems, distinguishes between relevant and irrelevant information to make logical decisions, provides solutions to individual and organizational problems.
- Maintain feature classes, object classes and associated metadata within enterprise and local geodatabases and shapefiles.
- Develop, comply, and integrates geographic data from a wide variety of sources, including data collection in the field by the incumbent and others, for inclusion in geodatabases.
- Conduct analysis of complex problems related to asset management and other departmental processes.
- Respond to technical questions and provides assistance and training related to a wide variety of GIS and asset management topics.
- Facilitate the development and deployment of web mapping applications.
- Act as liaison to other County agencies as necessary.
- Create publication quality maps using ArcGIS.
- Develop and implement QA/QC practices to maintain geodatabase integrity and performance.
- Monitor systems and user performance and recommends changes to automate and/or improve efficiency.
- Perform related work as assigned or required.
Experience: Collection, management, and analysis of geospatial data using ESRI enterprise GIS system.
Degree: Coursework in geography, information technology/computer graphics/ArcGIS, urban planning, or related field.
- 6 years of experience as described above.
- Associate degree and 4 years of experience as described above.
- Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience as described above.
- Masters or high-level degree as described above.
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
- Possession and maintenance of a valid State of Florida Driver's License upon hire with eligibility based upon evaluation of a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) driving report
- Assignment to work a variety of work schedules including compulsory work periods in special, emergency, and/or disaster situations.
- Experience in the use of ESRI's suite of Geographic Information System (GIS) software, particularly ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.
- Experience in data editing, quality assurance/quality control, and metadata management.
- Knowledge of fundamental principles of relational databases.
- Experience developing and running database and geodatabase queries and reports.
- Experience in the use of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software and files.
- Experience in the use of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and/or Asset Management System (AMS) software.
- Experience automating and scripting GIS processes, such as with Model Building and/or Python.
- Ability to evaluate software and tools that will facilitate efficient GIS workflows and boost productivity.
- Experience collecting and processing GPS data.
- Experience with Microsoft Office software, including Excel, Word, and Access.
- Experience defining, documenting, and analyzing business workflow processes.
- Ability to coordinate efforts among multiple workgroups or departments to solve problems and improve standardization.
- Experience supporting others in various GIS activities.
- Ability to prepare and deliver effective presentations at various levels.
- Ability to work outdoors (heat, rain, etc.).
