Quality Assurance Technician - 2nd Shift

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The 2nd Shift Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for monitoring of food safety, quality, and sanitation throughout the establishment. Assist with aspects of food safety documentation in accordance with company policy. Help to identify defects or non-compliant product, assist in initiating and following up on corrective actions, and participate in food safety meetings.

This is a full-time position and while the general schedule is 3:30 p.m. – 12:00 p.m. Monday-Friday, flexibility in schedule is sometimes required to meet the demands of the company.

Duties include and are not limited to:

• Conducting operational tasks and maintaining records
• Assisting with all third-party auditing
• Monitoring safety for personnel, product, and facility
• Conducting batch and lot testing
• Identifying any non-compliant product
• Calibrating measuring and test equipment
• Monitoring proper sanitary conditions in all facilities (SSOPs)
• Performing inspections and testing in accordance with quality plan and verifying compliance
• Conducting re-inspection of non-conforming products
• Processing returned goods to ensure quality and compliance with standards
• Assisting with training needs and ensuring training for personnel (Quality/OSHA)
• Ensuring personnel policies and procedures are followed
• Verifying Food Safety records
• Inspecting products for wholesomeness
• Participating in food safety meetings
• Completing additional tasks as needed which not described in this task description

EXPERIENCE

Supporting role for quality assurance and food safety team throughout the production facility. Must have excellent attention to detail and be a proven critical thinker. Ability to consistently follow up on tasks and follow both written and verbal instructions is required. Excellent communication skills and a command of the English language are required. Intermediate level of expertise in Microsoft Office is required.

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES

HACCP Certification is required within 1 year of hire. Company will pay for training.
