Job Overview
As the Lead Accountant at Pinehurst Coins, you will oversee daily accounting functions, ensure accuracy in financial reporting, and play a key role in strategic planning and decision-making. This is a hands-on position, ideal for someone who is both analytical and proactive, with the ability to lead a small accounting team and improve financial processes.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee daily accounting operations, including AP/AR, general ledger, and payroll.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory standards.
- Coordinate with external auditors and manage year-end audits.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff.
- Identify areas for process improvement and cost efficiencies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience; 2 years in a supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar)
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
- Experience in retail, e-commerce, or precious metals is a plus.
