Egg Truck Driver

Important Requirement: 

Applicants must hold a valid CDL-A (Commercial Driver’s License – Class A) to be considered for this position. Please do not apply if you do not currently possess a CDL-A license or if your license is expired.

Position Summary

Pick up, load, and deliver eggs from breeder locations to the hatchery. Drive a tractor-trailer combination to pick up full racks of eggs from the breeder farms.

Responsibilities and Tasks

· Must be able to communicate with Growers. *Must be able to complete all required paperwork correctly and completely.

• Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned.
• Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles.
• Operate equipment, such as truck cab computers, CB radios, and telephones, to exchange necessary information with bases, supervisors, or other drivers.
• Read and interpret maps to determine vehicle routes.
• Complete all paperwork and maintain “Driver Activity Logs” as required.
• Ability to work in hot and cold environments and inclement weather
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must bring an MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) from the license branch
• Must have pass a driving test
• Employees must keep their license and DOT physical documents current, and they must comply with random drug testing as is required by DOT
• Drivers must comply with Seat Belt and safety rules

· Must be able to complete all tasks assigned by members of management

· Must be able to and communicate well with others

· Ability to work cooperatively with supervisors, coworkers

• All other duties as assigned

Qualification

· High School Diploma or GED preferred

· Must have a valid Class A Driver’s license.

· Be able to push/pull wheeled egg racks weighing up to 1,000lbs.

· Must have good attendance

· Communication, Oral – Ability to communicate effectively with others using the spoken word.

· Communication, Written – Ability to communicate in writing clearly and concisely.

· Must have a good driving record.

· Must be able to meet DOT requirements.

Work Location:

· One location: Goshen, IN

Schedule:

· 50 average hours per week

· 4 days per week - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday. 

· Daily hours range roughly from 5:00 AM-3:00 PM

Pay Frequency:

· Weekly

Pay Rate: $28.00 per hour.
